Our Philosophy

"When one thinks of wild ponies, there is a romanticism that conjures up active, roamig, free spirits, being as one and in harmony with their environment. We are proud to be part of that the legacy and the dreams that ARE the Chincoteague pony. We look to the island as an ongoing manifestation of the legacy, and to our own small herd that is now part of us as evidence of a natural order in the universe that connects us to all living things. Our goal now is to spread the word about these wonderful creatures and to enjoy each one of them that we have."

Our first foal to hit the ground on Thousand Welcomes Farm in 2002. In 2003 we had four foals which were sold within a month. One was a surprise (a long story). We did keep one pony named Boomer for our grandson. He is stunning and a real character.

Future Plans
For 2006 we are trying a cross breed. We have bred Tidewater Fandango and Tidewater Fable to a wonderful quarterhorse, Classic Mac Goodbar. We're hoping to get his gorgeous looks and the Chincoteague's stamina. Autumn Skye will foal again in 2006.

Boomer has embarked on his show career. He just turned two and our 11 year old grandson, Taylor, is riding him. They will be going in some walk/trot classes this summer and seem to be a very well suited pair. Boomer is stunning under saddle as well as in hand. He went to the Southern Horse Festival show in December, 2004 and came home with two ribbons in halter. Not bad for a pony who has never been off the farm.
